After-Approval Guide

Turn a positive decision into an organised next stage.

Is this the right option for you?

You have received professional-card approval, or want to understand the practical work that will follow if your application succeeds.

What we work through

Approval is an important milestone. The next stage brings practical questions about residence-related steps, arrival, registration and setting up the activity. The guide helps you understand the sequence and who does what.

  • Understand the steps that may follow approval, depending on where you live.
  • Find practical explanations of arrival and registration procedures.
  • Understand the roles of banks, enterprise counters and other organisations involved in getting started.
  • Explore practical considerations around business setup, insurance and everyday life.
  • Identify where family-related questions may need separate attention.

What to prepare

Read alongside your decision letter and current official instructions. Note which steps apply to your situation and which organisations you need to contact.

What you should leave with

A practical framework for organising what comes next and asking the right questions of the organisations involved.

Scope of this offer

The guide provides information and practical orientation. It does not arrange visas, housing, school places, banking or family-reunification applications on your behalf.

How to arrange it

Get in touch with the name of this offer and a brief outline of your situation. We will confirm the scope, price, format and any preparation required before you commit. Timing and delivery arrangements are agreed before the work begins.

Non-EU citizen planning to work for yourself?

A professional card is mandatory before starting a self-employed activity unless an exemption applies. EU/EEA and Swiss nationals are exempt; qualifying family, residence or other statuses can also provide exemptions. Already living in Belgium does not automatically exempt you. For a move from abroad through the professional-card route, approval is a required step before the long-stay visa can be granted. This is separate from an employee’s single permit.
